Florida Massage Therapy Continuing Education Requirements

Accepting Home Study Courses for Live Requirement Extended to 2025 - The Florida Board of Massage announced that they will continue to allow specific, approved, home study courses to satisfy the "relevant to and focus on massage therapy techniques" category which were to be completed in a live, in-person setting. They have extended this change through the August 2025 renewal. In the box below you will find a list of the current courses approved to fulfill this category.

Massage therapy continuing education requirements for license renewal vary from state to state and the laws are constantly changing. It is our current understanding that for license renewal Florida requires massage therapists to complete 24 CE hours by August 31st of each odd-numbered year. NOTE: The HIV/AIDS CE requirement is only for for initial license renewal.

Your 24 CE hours must include 2 CE hours in Professional Ethics, 2 CE hours in the prevention of Medical Errors, 2 CE hours in Florida Laws and Rules, and 1 CE hour on Human Trafficking.

What We Can Do For You!

  • You will need to complete a minimum of 12 classroom hours that are approved in the "relevant to and focus on massage therapy techniques" category. The following courses are the only ones currently approved to satisfy this requirement:
  • For the required topics of ethics, law and medical errors, you can choose from any of our six specially priced Florida packages that will include the required ethics, medical errors and law.
  • 1 CE hour on Human Trafficking.
  • You'll then need 5 hours that include, but are not limited to, communication with clients and other professionals, psychological dynamics of the client-therapist relationship, risk management, charting, documentation, recordkeeping, infection control, or massage practice management. These hours can be earned through our home study courses.
  • As a Florida Board of Massage Approved Continuing Education Provider (#50-1017) we offer over 150+ continuing education courses that you can use toward your license renewal requirements. EXCEPTION: The Florida Board will not approve the Therapeutic Techniques of Deep Tissue Massage: Part II course, due to the total length of video included. All other programs are approved by the Board as home study, only the courses listed above can be used to fulfill your classroom hours.
